Talking About Cakap-Cakap.

Welcome to the new apostrophe site AND the launch of our new programme, Cakap-Cakap. We won’t bore you with contest details, seeing that it is littered all across the site, but we will tell you about how Cakap-Cakap came about…

It all started over corn-cakes and coffee with our Apostrophe 2 panel.  Several ideas were being tossed around, including a text-driven nationwide game of Chinese Whispers (!), when suddenly Sharon Chin burst out “What about comics?” (cue excited twitter around the table). Before you could say ‘cakap’, ideas came tumbling out on how this programme could run and within about 2 weeks, Cakap-Cakap was born.

As with most things, there is always a bigger picture. With Apostrophe 2, the bigger picture is to attempt to capture Great Malaysian Moments.  We hope that these comics provoke thought, laughter and nostalgia. Through them, we would like you to tell us about your own Malaysian moment. In the current landscape, Malaysian moments and stories have become so important in shaping our creative identity, why not do it with a bit fun?
